One of the standout features of Yardie CC is their renowned oxtails. Many patrons, like Tre Supreme and Chandra Smith, rave about the tenderness and rich seasoning that define this dish. As Daniel noted, the meat is "fall-off-the-bone tender," and the accompanying sides really soak up the delightful flavors, enhancing the overall experience.
But it's not just about oxtails here. The menu also features tantalizing options like jerk chicken, as highlighted by David, who enjoyed his meals packed with spices and generous portions. The accompanying pigeon peas and rice make for a classic pairing, and even the cornbread shines in this culinary lineup. Each dish is prepared with care and a personal touch, making every visit feel special and unique.
Beyond the dishes, what truly sets Yardie CC apart is the warm, inviting atmosphere created by the staff. Customers often speak of the friendly conversations and the genuine passion for good food shared by Ms. Stacy and her team. Cara Star described her experience as "super awesome," emphasizing the connection made through food. “ I ordered the oxtails with yellow rice and string beans. The oxtails were tender and seasoned just right. The yellow rice and green beans paired well with the oxtails. I would recommend trying them if you are in the area. Yardie is definitely invited to the party!!! ”
“ I was in Tallahassee yesterday from Tampa and ordered the oxtails and curry chicken. The food was delicious and the portion size was impressive. I'm typically disappointed by the portion size when ordering oxtails at other restaurants but this portion was fulfilling. I highly recommend Yardie and will visit again when I'm in the area. ”
“ I work at Publix in the deli. One day, Ms Stacy, the operator of Yardie CC came by to get a sub. She was very friendly and we got to talking about our shared love of food. She asked if I'd heard of Yardie CC. I told I'd heard of it, had read its wonderful reviews, but I hadn't stopped by myself. She told me to stop by and try her food. I did that today and I was definitely not disappointed. It was delicious. I got the oxtail (first time trying it), collards (my favorite vegetable), and yellow rice. While waiting in line I heard Ms Stacy telling the person ahead of me about her pound cake, so I got that as well. Everything was delicious. The oxtails were fall off the bone tender and full of flavor. The collards were perfectly cooked and a little smokey, just how I like them, the potlikker at the bottom was most certainly utilized. The yellow rice on its own was tasty, perfectly cooked, but once it soaked up the juices from the collards and oxtails it became magical. The pound cake was great as well, second only to my grandmother's (gotta keep granny at number 1). It was moist with the right amount of glaze and lemon flavor. I absolutely recommend this great local place and will hit it up again. I believe in eating local, keeping money within the community. There's so many great local places in Tallahassee, and I think it's important to show are appreciation by supporting those businesses and letting them know how much we appreciate it. Thanks Ms Stacy for a wonderful meal. ”
